Neat easy tool

Postby mrb000 » Thu Sep 10, 2009 12:51 am

I like this tool since using it for a day or two now. I am particularly looking to be able to report on core hours without haveing to strip original SMF data prior to doing an FTP load. May I suggest some sort of selection logic similar to an SMF dump selection? IE. start(0700) end(1700) This would be beneficial for core working hour reports across days or months. Even better if weekend data could be omitted as well. Just food for thought. Keep up the good work.

You can report on core hours for single days by selecting them in the time selection. When you change the start time the end time changes to maintain the same interval length. So, if you set the Start to 0700 and the End to 1700 you can then change the start time to select different days and the end will change with it.

However, I recognize that it would be useful to be able to define your own time periods, and report on core hours only for multiple days. It is on the list of features to add.

Two additional items for suggestion...
Is there a way to easily download SMF files into the Data repository via a Batch job for automating?
Second, Will there be CPU Busy for ZIIP/ZAP engines?

Batch/command line usage is something I am intending to add in the future.

zIIP/zAAP CPU busy should be reported in the most recent version (version 1.0.0). There was a bug in the previous versions which meant that the zIIP and zAAP usage wasn't reported separately.

Thanks Andrew. We are enabling a ZIIP engine this weekend and was curious about how it would show up.
