4 Hour Service by CPU Type

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Shows 4 hour rolling average of CPU service during the report period. Service is plotted by CPU type (CP, zIIP, zAAP, zIIP on CP and zAAP on CP).

4HourServiceByCpuType

The 4 hour rolling average is calculated from CPU service values in type 72 records. Service on zIIP and zAAP processors is normalized to show the 4 hour rolling average if that work had run on a CP.

The 4 hour average from type 72 records is not expected to exactly match the actual 4HRA, due to capture ratios and different methods of measurement for the type 70 and type 72 records. However it should be close enough to provide useful information about the work that makes up the 4HRA. The 4HRA value from the type 70 records is also plotted so you can verify how close the type 72 service values are to the actual values. The total for CP + zIIP on CP + zAAP on CP should be close to the actual 4HRA value. Work on zIIP and zAAP CPUs is not included in the 4HRA, so this work increases the actual service values over the measured 4HRA.
